I found his book, Self Portrait, to be completely fascinating, and it was difficult for me to find one photo to focus on. The one I chose was the one described/titled, 'New York City 1966':

I feel this photo encompasses the general feeling that I got from most of the photography - an ominous feeling. I couldn't help but wonder what that woman was thinking and/or feeling when he took that photo... A slight shudder ran through me when I imagined myself in her place because there are times when one just feels eyes on them and know that someone is watching or close by. Did she feel threatened by him? Paranoid? Or was she too busy to care.
I also really appreciated the way he took advantage of his own shadow. Although this entire book is titled Self Portrait, I got the sense that the role of the photographer could be Any man/Every man because he did not insist on having the reader look directly at him in every single shot.

It's a great photo and I love your comment about 'did she feel like someone was watching her'. This would be a good shot in a mystery movie or thriller.
